In case you want to get the latest updates and a frank opinion about Indian Art, I strongly recommend you read these blogs. They are the best blogs on Indian Art.

http://indianartinvest.blogspot.com/

This is one blog which carries a honest and frank opinion on contemporary indian art and various artists. The view expressed by the blogger are quite candid and devoid of any vested interest. This is one blog which should be followed by both experienced art collectors and those who want to start investing in art but do not know how. I love the way the blogger approaches the subject, the latest post on young and emerging artists is really good.

Follow this blog closely if you want to know about the various art exhibitions happening in the country and get detailed review of the show and the biography of the artist. I just refer to this blog once in every 2-3 days to know which galery is showing which artist instead of just searching around. Excellent compilation and must visit blog.

I have seen soem other blogs also but they are what i call round up blogs, they basically just profile a show without any critique and do not comment on values or how the art market is shaping up.

Do let me know, if you like any other blogs of substance, I liked these two as they are informative and different from the other ones.

I dont understand whats so artistic about these enlarged , photoshop manupulated paintings by some of the contemporaries which are being tomtomed as great paintings by some art blogs. Any smart guy from ad field could churn them out by dozens. Just because they have some faked social concerns to justify them. Most of the Mtv and V channel graphics are much better and contain more irony in them if that is the criteria. Most of them are lifted from american illustration and graphic magazines and sprinkled with indian concerns. Looks like the writers believe that history of art begins with Warhol as Hughes has said.

Interesting blog.

Well, that is a big statement to make,if you were good enough, art writers would write about you also.

Honestly, try and learn Suhas, some of the artists are photoshop guys but some are fantastic !

Thats not my view only. So many artists talk about this though not loudly.Being written about is not the only mark of quality. In todays art market it can be easily bought or manipulated. And I seriously do not wish to be a part of the scene. I am happy where I am. Feel free to disbelive this..

many artists talk about it though

Well said, Suhas.

There's plenty of snooty name dropping going on here -but that is how the contemporary art establishment and it's hanger-ons are: floating in an hubiristic ether, far above common sense and reasoned judgment. I had a look at some of the artists they are going ga-ga over. When you adulate pretentious mediocrities it reflects badly not on pretentious mediocrities but on you.

For some sanity try this blog-

Modestly, I shall say it's mine.

Gurmeet, nice effort on your blog, just try and classify the information a bit better and it would make more sense, good blog nevertheless. Check out Johny ML's blog also, quite nice.
